Research Library

The IWRS has compiled a research library with a wide range of resources on the welfare of insects and other neglected species. It includes both conceptual work and primary scientific research. These resources are hosted in Zotero — see below for tips on how to navigate and use the library.

You can explore the library in two ways:

1. Browse by tag

Use the tag panel to explore categories and refine your search.

You can begin with a broad group:

Insecta, Cephalopoda, Chelicerata, Crustacean, Echinodermata, Mollusca, Nematoda

If you are browsing insects, you can further refine by taxonomic order:

Coleoptera (e.g., beetles), Blattodea (e.g., cockroaches), Diptera (e.g., flies), Hemiptera (e.g., cicadas), Hymenoptera (e.g., ants, bees, wasps), Lepidoptera (e.g., butterflies, moths), Mantodea (e.g., mantises), Odonata (e.g., dragonflies), Orthoptera (e.g., grasshoppers, crickets)

2. Search directly

Use the 🔍 search bar to find resources by keyword.

You can search for:

  • Species names or common terms (e.g., beetle or roach)

  • Topics or concepts

Tip:

Have a narrow search? Click on multiple tags. If you select more than one tag, you will only find resources that have both tags applied.
