Teaching Innovation Awards

The IWRS Teaching Innovation Award supports instructors developing new approaches to teaching insect or invertebrate biology that incorporate the 3Rs (replacement, reduction, and refinement).

Two awards of $2,000 USD are available annually. Funds support the creation and implementation of 3Rs-driven instructional materials and pedagogical approaches. Priority is given to proposals addressing common teaching practices with substantial welfare implications.

Please read our ‘Applicant Handbook’ for FAQs about funding restrictions, acknowledging our support, reporting on results, and more. Any further questions not covered in the handbook can be directed to grants@insectwelfare.com.

There are two annual application deadlines: July 15 and November 15. Any further questions can be directed to grants@insectwelfare.com.
